What to Do With Mattresses That Have a Urine Odor Smell

Urine smell in our mattress is a big no-no. I do not think so, because everyone can have a mattress that does not smell right to sleep. Thus it is imperative to eliminate the odor pronto.

Some people opt for the use of purchased mattress deodorizers and cleaning products. However, many people are not satisfied with the outcome. Rather than shell money to buy those expensive cleaners, just clean, mattress with the help of the things that you have at home.

Method 1: BakingSoda
Sprinkle baking soda on the part that is located where the smell. With a brush, make sure some of the soda penetrates into the mattress. This is the best way to do this without soaking the mattress with water.

Baking powder can also be used if you want to get rid of some stain in the mattress. Just dilute it with water and use it to scrub clean the area.

Method 2: Baby Powder
Baby powder can be used in the same way as baking soda. Make sure that allmore urine is gone before with baby powder. You sprinkle it on and let it sit there to get rid of the lingering smell of urine. The next thing you can do is to vacuum the inside to dry completely.

Method 3: Alcohol
A clear rubbing alcohol is great. Just pour rubbing alcohol on the affected area. It absorbs the smell and it will be rid of the bacteria. No need to vacuum drying because it dries very nicely on its own.

Method 4: vinegar solution
With avinegar solution maybe a bit of a hassle for some especially to those who do not like the smell of vinegar. But take a chance on this as it does a great job in removing the smell. You can dilute white vinegar in warm water and blot the affected area with clean towel and the vinegar solution. Make sure the solution penetrates in the mattress. Dry it up using the vacuum cleaner.

Method 5: Lemon Juice
This is for the people who do not want vinegar solution. Just substitute it with lemon juice instead.

It is also better if the mattress dry in the sun. The sun can get rid of the odor and the bacteria that are filling inside the mattress. But anyway, try to introduce one of the tricks used to the smell and you can get off in no time. Happy cleaning!
